POPE-AI is designed to be hands-free once started. Open the app at the start of work, press Start, and POPE waits in standby until the chef calls it by name.
POPE does not turn every bit of kitchen noise into a record. The wake word starts the interaction, and the command request word opens the correct skill before any data is accepted.
At the start of work, the phone app is opened and POPE enters standby/listening mode.
The wake word brings POPE out of standby. Until then, POPE is waiting, not logging.
The chef gets a clear spoken confirmation that POPE is awake and ready for the task request.
Examples include “fridge temp record”, “service temp record”, “goods receiving temp”, or “calibrate probe hot”. This second stage is the safety gate that tells POPE exactly which skill to open.
POPE confirms the correct record type is open. Only then does the chef call out temperatures, notes, or other required inputs.
The chef can call out temperatures, delivery readings, probe checks, incident notes, or other information required by the selected skill.
That ends the entry. POPE validates, stores the record, confirms completion, and returns to standby.
Chef:
“Pope.”
POPE-AI:
“Yes, Chef.”
Chef:
“Fridge temp record.”
POPE-AI:
“Ready, Chef.”
Chef:
“Fridge one, three point two degrees. Fridge two, four point one degrees. All done.”
POPE-AI:
“Recorded, Chef. Fridge temperatures logged. Returning to standby.”
Kitchens are noisy. Staff shout, timers beep, orders fly, pans hit the stove, and people talk over each other. POPE-AI is not designed to grab random speech and turn it into a record.
The command request word is the second-stage safety gate. It tells POPE exactly what type of record is being made before any temperatures or notes are accepted.
“In a real kitchen, if the system is awkward, it gets ignored. POPE has to fit the pass, not fight it.”
POPE-AI launches with the essential HACCP and EHO record skills professional kitchens need first. Each skill is opened by a clear command request word.
The first version of POPE-AI focuses on HACCP and EHO record keeping. After beta, add-on skill packs are planned to expand POPE into wider kitchen and hospitality administration.
Future packs may support HR records, staff onboarding, stock control, ordering, supplier workflows, P/L integrations, training records, and multi-site operational admin.
POPE-AI is being tested first as a hands-free compliance recorder: speak the record, store the evidence, and export it when needed.
“I never wanted chefs to do less food safety. I wanted them to lose less time proving they had done it.”
Managers need organised evidence, not piles of paper. POPE-AI gives managers a clear dashboard to review compliance activity, identify gaps, and export records when needed.
The phone is for fast kitchen recording. The dashboard is for oversight, review, gaps, incidents, accountability, and EHO-ready evidence.
POPE-AI is designed to support HACCP record keeping and operational compliance. Final responsibility for food safety remains with the food business operator and management team.
POPE-AI records and organises the compliance evidence professional kitchens are already required to keep. It records what staff tell it. It is not a monitoring system, it does not replace qualified food safety management, and it does not guarantee EHO approval.
POPE-AI has initial beta kitchens ready in Australia, with further professional kitchens invited to apply.
